Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tishtha is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody developed by Zydus Lifesciences that targets the Programmed Cell Death Protein 1 (PD-1) receptor. It is a biosimilar of the reference biologic pembrolizumab (Keytruda). Tishtha acts as an immune checkpoint inhibitor; by binding to the PD-1 receptor on T-cells, it blocks the inhibitory signaling pathway triggered by ligands PD-L1 and PD-L2, which are often overexpressed by tumor cells to evade immune detection. This blockade restores and enhances the anti-tumor activity of cytotoxic T-lymphocytes. Tishtha is approved in India for the treatment of multiple oncology indications, including melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and various other solid tumors and hematological malignancies.
