This refers to the immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) component of the shared control arm in the BUTTONS-001 umbrella trial (NCT07172412), conducted by Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital. The protocol evaluates the efficacy and safety of various PD-1 and PD-L1 inhibitors—specifically tislelizumab, atezolizumab, durvalumab, benmelstobart, toripalimab, and serplulimab—in combination with standard-of-care chemotherapy (etoposide plus cisplatin or carboplatin) for the first-line treatment of extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). Patients are assigned to one of these ICIs as part of a biomarker-integrated study design that also explores experimental combinations with DLL3-targeted CAR-NK cells, selinexor, or anlotinib. These monoclonal antibodies target the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway to prevent tumor-mediated immune evasion and enhance anti-tumor T-cell activity.
