Overview
Tissue Repair Cell Therapy (TRC) is an autologous cell therapy developed by Aastrom Biosciences, Inc. It involves the collection and processing of a patient's own bone marrow to expand specific cell populations, including early stem cells and CD90+ mesenchymal stem cells. These cells are then transplanted to the site of injury to promote tissue regeneration. The therapy has been investigated for its potential to regenerate bone in alveolar bone defects, treat non-union fractures, and induce revascularization in diabetic patients suffering from critical limb ischemia.
