Overview

TiterMax is a high-potency, water-in-oil adjuvant used primarily in research and veterinary vaccine development to enhance the immune response to antigens. Developed as an alternative to Freund's Complete Adjuvant (CFA), it typically consists of a block copolymer (such as CRL-8941), squalene, and a sorbitan monooleate surfactant. It is designed to induce high-titer antibody responses and robust cellular immunity with lower toxicity and less injection-site inflammation than CFA. It is widely used in animal models for generating antibodies and inducing experimental autoimmune diseases such as prostatitis and myocarditis.
