Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TJ027 is an investigational small molecule inhibitor targeting Apolipoprotein C-III (APOC3), currently under development by Tuojie Biotech (拓界生物医药). APOC3 is a key protein in lipid metabolism that resides on the surface of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins (TRLs) and high-density lipoproteins (HDL). It acts as a potent inhibitor of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and hepatic lipase, and it also interferes with the hepatic uptake of TRL remnants, leading to elevated plasma triglyceride levels. By inhibiting the function or expression of APOC3, TJ027 aims to enhance the clearance of triglycerides and improve lipid profiles, making it a potential therapeutic candidate for hypertriglyceridemia and the prevention of associated cardiovascular diseases.
