Overview

TK-112690 is a uridine phosphorylase inhibitor being developed by Tosk, Inc. for the prevention of chemotherapy and radiotherapy-induced mucositis in cancer patients. It is also known by the code names METREXASSIST and TK-90. The drug is a 2,2'-anhydropyrimidine derivative that targets and blocks the activity of uridine phosphorylase (UPase), preventing the metabolic breakdown of uridine into uracil. By increasing uridine levels in plasma, TK-112690 may prevent mucositis and enhance the therapeutic index of chemotherapeutic agents by rescuing normal tissue. TK-112690 is currently in Phase 2 clinical development for mucositis.
