TK-88

TK-88 is a preclinical small molecule drug being developed by Tosk, Inc. to mitigate the severe side effects associated with platinum-based chemotherapy agents, including cisplatin, carboplatin, and oxaliplatin. The drug specifically targets the prevention of kidney toxicity (nephrotoxicity), peripheral neuropathy, and hearing loss (ototoxicity), which are common dose-limiting toxicities in the treatment of ovarian, breast, cervical, and lung cancers. TK-88 was identified using Tosk's proprietary Side Effect Fly technology, a discovery platform that utilizes Drosophila melanogaster to screen for compounds that selectively block drug-induced toxicities without reducing the therapeutic efficacy of the primary treatment. As of the current reporting, the specific biological target of TK-88 remains undisclosed.
