Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**TKD peptide** is a synthetic 14-mer peptide corresponding to amino acid residues 450–463 (sequence: TKDNNLLGRFELSG) of the human heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70)[1][7][9]. It acts as a natural killer (NK) cell activator, stimulating both the cytolytic activity and proliferative capacity of NK cells, but only in the presence of low-dose interleukin-2 (IL-2)[1][6][9]. TKD peptide mimics the effect of full-length Hsp70 protein in activating NK cell immune responses, thereby enhancing antitumor activity against Hsp70 membrane-positive tumor cells both in vitro and in vivo[1][5][6][9]. The peptide has been evaluated as a research reagent and in adoptive cell therapies (as an ex vivo NK cell activator) for cancer immunotherapy, particularly for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)[6][8]. It is also explored for immunomodulation in neurodegenerative and stress-related disease research[7].
