TKI-5

TKI-5 is a placeholder designation for one of five FDA-approved tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) that were evaluated in a study presented at the 2025 Society for Neuro-Oncology (SNO) Annual Meeting. The research, conducted by a team at Taichung Veterans General Hospital and National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, explored the use of these inhibitors to enhance the ex vivo expansion and anti-tumor cytotoxicity of human gamma-delta (γδ) T cells, specifically the Vγ9Vδ2 subset, for the treatment of Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). While the study identified "TKI-1" as a significant enhancer of γδ T cell activity and memory marker expression, TKI-5 was part of the initial screening of five approved TKIs.
