Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TL-003 is a humanized monoclonal antibody developed by TrueLab Biopharmaceutical Co., Ltd for the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases, specifically ulcerative colitis. It targets the p19 subunit of Interleukin-23 (IL-23), a pro-inflammatory cytokine that plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of chronic intestinal inflammation. By selectively binding to IL-23p19, TL-003 inhibits the IL-23 signaling pathway, which is involved in the differentiation and maintenance of Th17 cells. This mechanism aims to reduce mucosal inflammation while sparing IL-12 signaling, which shares the p40 subunit with IL-23. TL-003 is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy adult participants and patients with ulcerative colitis.
