Overview

TLC-ART (Targeted Long-acting Combination Antiretroviral Therapy) is a program at the University of Washington developing long-acting injectable HIV drug combinations using drug-combination nanoparticle (DcNP) technology. This platform enables multiple HIV drugs with different physicochemical properties to be formulated into stable injectable suspensions that provide sustained drug release. The program has several product candidates in development, including TLC-ART 101 (lopinavir-ritonavir-tenofovir), TLC-ART 201 (lopinavir-ritonavir-tenofovir-lamivudine), and TLC-ART 301 (tenofovir-lamivudine-dolutegravir). These formulations aim to overcome adherence challenges with daily oral HIV medications by providing sustained drug levels in lymph nodes and blood cells for up to one month after a single subcutaneous injection.
