Overview

TLC590 is a non-opioid, proprietary sustained-release formulation of ropivacaine developed using the BioSeizer liposome technology. It is designed for postsurgical pain management, providing prolonged local anesthetic effects with a single administration. The formulation aims to extend the retention time of ropivacaine at the injection site, acting as a drug depot to deliver both immediate and extended pain relief while reducing systemic exposure and opioid consumption. Clinical trials have demonstrated that TLC590 offers greater and longer-lasting reductions in pain intensity compared to standard ropivacaine or bupivacaine, with statistically significant improvements in analgesia lasting up to 96–168 hours post-surgery. The safety profile is comparable to existing local anesthetics, with most adverse events being mild and unrelated to treatment[1][4][5][6][7].
