TLM-003

TLM-003 is an investigational ophthalmic solution being developed for the suppression of myopia progression, particularly in children. Originally discovered by Tsubota Laboratory and subsequently licensed to Théa Pharma, the drug is designed to mimic the protective effects of violet light (360–400 nm) on eye growth. Tsubota Laboratory's research indicates that violet light exposure triggers the expression of the EGR1 (Early Growth Response 1) gene, which plays a critical role in regulating axial elongation of the eye. TLM-003 is currently being evaluated in global Phase 2 clinical trials to determine its efficacy and safety as a pharmacological intervention to slow the development of nearsightedness.
