TLX-007 is a small molecule drug candidate being developed by Easywell Biomedicals for the treatment of depression. It functions as a D-amino acid oxidase (DAAO) inhibitor, a mechanism aimed at increasing the synaptic concentration of D-amino acids such as D-serine. D-serine acts as an essential co-agonist at the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor; by inhibiting its degradation, TLX-007 enhances glutamatergic neurotransmission.
