TLX250-TRAP is a novel fusion protein designed for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). It consists of the ectodomain of transforming growth factor beta receptor II (TGFβRII ect) and an anti-carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) antibody. This dual-action drug targets CAIX-expressing tumor cells while simultaneously binding and neutralizing transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ), thereby inhibiting TGFβ receptor signaling. This mechanism aims to counteract immunosuppression and radioresistance, enhancing anti-tumor immune responses. TLX250-TRAP also has the capacity for radioisotope labeling, specifically with Lutetium-177 (Lu-177), enabling its use as a theranostic radiopharmaceutical for tumor tracking and targeted radiation therapy.
