TLX597 (also known as TLX597-Tx) is a small-molecule radiopharmaceutical therapy targeting Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA), developed for the treatment of prostate cancer. In-licensed by Telix Pharmaceuticals from the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Nucleares (ININ) of Mexico, TLX597 is designed to deliver therapeutic radionuclides, such as Lutetium-177 (^177Lu), directly to cancer cells expressing PSMA. This targeted approach aims to maximize the radiation dose to the tumor while sparing healthy tissues, particularly the salivary and lacrimal glands, which are common sites of off-target uptake for other PSMA-targeting agents. The drug is currently in early-stage development as part of Telix's expanding urology pipeline and represents a next-generation ligand with a potentially improved safety and efficacy profile compared to first-generation small-molecule PSMA agents.
