Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TMβ1 (also known as TM-β1 or TM-beta1) is a rat monoclonal antibody (IgG2b, kappa) directed against mouse CD122, the beta chain of the interleukin-2/15 receptor (IL-2/15Rβ). CD122 is constitutively expressed on natural killer (NK) cells and at lower levels on subsets of T cells, B cells, monocytes, and macrophages. TMβ1 blocks the high-affinity binding of IL-2 and IL-15 to CD122 and is widely used in preclinical research for the in vivo depletion of NK cells and CD122-expressing CD8+ T cells in mouse models. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that depletion of CD122+ cells using TMβ1 can protect non-obese diabetic (NOD) mice from the development of type 1 diabetes and reverse autoimmune intestinal damage in models of celiac disease.
