Overview

TM30339 is a synthetic peptide analogue of the natural hormone pancreatic polypeptide (PP), designed to mimic the satiety signal from the gastrointestinal system that regulates food intake in humans. It acts as a selective agonist of the neuropeptide Y receptor type 4 (Y4 receptor), which is also targeted by endogenous PP. By activating this receptor, TM30339 increases satiety and was developed primarily for the treatment of obesity and related metabolic diseases. The drug demonstrated efficacy in preclinical models for long-term body weight reduction and advanced through early clinical trials but its development has since been discontinued. The originator and developer was 7TM Pharma[1][2][3][4][5].
