Overview

This is a combination of **TMC435** (also known as **simeprevir**) and **erythromycin**. TMC435 is a once-daily, oral hepatitis C virus NS3/4A protease inhibitor developed primarily for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, particularly genotype 1[3]. Developed jointly by Tibotec Pharmaceuticals and Medivir, simeprevir blocks the activity of the NS3/4A protease—an enzyme essential for HCV replication—thereby reducing viral load[3][2]. Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, used to treat various bacterial infections. There is no evidence from clinical trials or medical literature supporting the approved or experimental use of these two drugs as a fixed or synergistic combination for any medical indication; their combination appears unapproved and uncommon.
