TME111 is a double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) oligonucleotide therapeutic being developed by TME Therapeutics for the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). It is designed to target and knockdown the expression of Carbohydrate sulfotransferase 11 (CHST11), an enzyme that plays a critical role in the biosynthesis of chondroitin sulfate and the remodeling of the extracellular matrix. CHST11 expression is associated with the progression of liver fibrosis and inflammation, which are hallmark features of NASH. By utilizing an RNA interference (RNAi) mechanism to reduce CHST11 levels, TME111 aims to halt or reverse fibrotic changes in the liver. The drug is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
