TME152 is a double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) oligonucleotide therapeutic developed by TME Therapeutics. It functions via RNA interference (RNAi) to specifically target and suppress the expression of Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 15 (CHST15). CHST15 is an enzyme responsible for the biosynthesis of chondroitin sulfate E (CS-E), a glycosaminoglycan that plays a critical role in tissue remodeling and the progression of fibrosis by promoting collagen deposition. By knocking down CHST15, TME152 aims to reduce fibrotic scarring and prevent the formation of esophageal strictures, which are frequent complications following endoscopic therapies such as endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical development for this indication.
