TMED2 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the Transmembrane p24 trafficking protein 2 (TMED2) gene. TMED2 is a member of the p24 family of proteins, which are involved in the trafficking of proteins between the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi apparatus. In the context of oncology, particularly breast cancer, TMED2 has been identified as a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker, with high expression levels correlating with poor patient outcomes, increased migratory and invasive capacities of cancer cells, and immune-suppressive tumor environments. Silencing TMED2 via siRNA has been shown in research settings to drastically inhibit the migratory and invasive capacities of breast cancer cell lines such as MDA-MB-231 and HCC1937, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target for inhibiting tumor progression and metastasis.
