Overview

TMED4 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the Transmembrane p24 trafficking protein 4 (TMED4) gene. TMED4 is a member of the p24 family of proteins, which are involved in the vesicular trafficking of proteins between the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi apparatus. In breast cancer, TMED4 is often upregulated and correlates with poor prognosis, advanced clinical stages, and an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Preclinical studies using TMED4 siRNA have demonstrated that knocking down this protein significantly impairs the migration and invasion of breast cancer cell lines, such as MDA-MB-231 and HCC1937. This suggests that TMED4 may serve as a viable therapeutic target for inhibiting metastasis and potentially improving the immune response in breast cancer patients.
