Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TML-PEH-22 is a ready-to-use (RTU) injectable anticoagulant formulation currently in the preclinical stage of development by Themis Medicare. It is part of the company's Novel Drug Delivery System (NDDS) pipeline and is designed to provide a stable, pre-mixed solution of a pentasaccharide anticoagulant, specifically fondaparinux. As an RTU product, it aims to enhance clinical safety and efficiency by eliminating the requirement for manual reconstitution or dilution, which reduces the risk of medication errors and contamination. The active ingredient, fondaparinux, is a synthetic pentasaccharide that selectively binds to antithrombin III. This binding induces a conformational change in antithrombin III that significantly increases its ability to neutralize Factor Xa, thereby interrupting the blood coagulation cascade and preventing thrombus formation without directly affecting thrombin (Factor IIa).
