Overview

TMP195 is a selective, small-molecule inhibitor of Class IIa histone deacetylases (HDACs), specifically targeting HDAC4, HDAC5, HDAC7, and HDAC9. Developed by Tempero Pharmaceuticals (a subsidiary of GSK), it functions as a chemical probe to investigate the epigenetic regulation of immune cells. TMP195 is particularly noted for its ability to influence macrophage polarization, promoting an anti-tumor phenotype in the tumor microenvironment by inducing the recruitment and activation of phagocytic cells. In respiratory research, TMP195 has demonstrated potential in reducing cellular senescence in alveolar type 2 (AT2) cells and alleviating allergic airway inflammation in asthma models. It is widely utilized in preclinical studies to explore therapeutic strategies for cancer, chronic inflammation, and metabolic diseases.
