TMR020

TMR020 is an investigational intravenous small molecule antibiotic belonging to the dabocin class, derived from the diazabicyclooctane (DBO) scaffold. Developed by the French pharmaceutical company Tamrisa, it acts as a non-beta-lactam inhibitor of penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). TMR020 is specifically designed to combat severe multi-drug resistant Gram-negative bacterial infections, including those caused by Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE), Carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas, and Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter. A defining characteristic of TMR020 is its outstanding stability against Class A, B, C, and D β-lactamases, allowing it to bypass common resistance mechanisms. The candidate is currently in Phase 1 clinical development and is supported by partnerships with CARB-X, Roche, and the Novo Holdings REPAIR Impact Fund.
