TN-101 is an investigational, preclinical-stage regenerative gene therapy being developed by Tenaya Therapeutics for the treatment of post-myocardial infarction (post-MI) heart failure. The therapy is designed to deliver cardiac reprogramming factors directly to resident cardiac fibroblasts in the heart, converting them into functional, beating cardiomyocytes (working myocardial cells) to restore heart function and reduce fibrotic scarring. Unlike systemic gene therapies, TN-101 is designed for localized, precise delivery directly into the heart tissue around the left ventricular scar area, typically utilizing an injection-based catheter approach to maximize therapeutic index and minimize systemic exposure.
