TNC-1 is a novel triazole near-infrared (NIR) cyanine dye developed for in-vivo fluorescent imaging. It is designed to detect and characterize activated T-cell activity, particularly within the eye, and has shown greater fluorescence intensity compared to Indocyanine green (ICG) without exhibiting ocular cell toxicity at working concentrations. Its uptake into CD4+T-cells is mediated by dynamin-dependent processes, suggesting its potential as a diagnostic marker for ocular inflammatory diseases.
