TNF kinoid is an investigational therapeutic vaccine designed as an active immunotherapy to induce a polyclonal antibody response against tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α). It consists of human TNF-α chemically conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH), forming a heterocomplex that stimulates the immune system to produce anti-TNF antibodies. Unlike passive monoclonal antibody therapies, this approach aims for long-lasting endogenous production of neutralizing antibodies by the patient’s own immune system. The primary indications explored have been Crohn’s disease and rheumatoid arthritis. Clinical trials demonstrated that tnf kinoid can induce dose-dependent anti-TNF antibody responses and was generally well tolerated in patients with moderate-to-severe Crohn's disease and rheumatoid arthritis who had failed prior anti-TNF biologics[4][5][6][7][9][10]. The drug was developed by Neovacs.
