Overview
TNF-targeting dexabody is a synthetic D-protein therapeutic candidate being developed by Dextera Biosciences for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. Utilizing Dextera's proprietary "dexabody" platform, the drug is composed of D-amino acids, which are mirror-image isomers of naturally occurring L-amino acids. This structural modification is intended to provide high affinity and specificity for Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) while offering superior stability against proteolytic enzymes and potentially lower immunogenicity compared to traditional biologics. The program is currently in the preclinical lead optimization phase, with investigations into both oral and injectable delivery for indications such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and psoriasis.
