Overview

TNFR1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor 1 (TNFR1). In glioblastoma (GBM), TNFR1 signaling is implicated in tumor maintenance, inflammation, and therapeutic resistance. Research conducted at Okayama University has demonstrated that knockdown of TNFR1 using siRNA sensitizes glioblastoma cells to regulated cell death pathways and reduces tumor cell proliferation. Clinical analysis suggests that high TNFR1 expression is a negative prognostic factor in GBM patients, positioning TNFR1 as a potential therapeutic target to overcome resistance to cell death in this aggressive brain tumor.
