Overview

TNM001 is a fully human IgG1 monoclonal antibody developed for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection, particularly targeting infants and children. It specifically binds to a conserved antigenic epitope on the pre-fusion conformation (Pre-F) of the RSV fusion (F) protein, thereby blocking viral fusion with host cell membranes and preventing RSV entry into cells. This neutralizing action results in potent inhibition of both laboratory-adapted and clinical isolates of RSV, with studies showing at least 30-fold greater potency than palivizumab. TNM001 has an extended half-life, allowing for single-dose protection throughout an entire RSV epidemic season. The drug is being developed by Trinomab Biotech and represents the first domestically developed long-acting anti-RSV antibody in China to enter clinical trials[1][2][3][5]. Clinical development has reached Phase 3 for prevention of severe lower respiratory tract disease caused by RSV in infants under one year old[6].
