Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TNM005 is a fully human monoclonal antibody developed by Trinomab Biotech for the prevention and treatment of varicella-zoster virus (VZV) infection. It is the first monoclonal antibody targeting VZV to enter clinical trials globally. The drug specifically targets the gH/gL protein complex of VZV, which is essential for viral entry into host cells. By inhibiting this fusion protein complex, TNM005 acts as a viral fusion protein inhibitor and neutralizes VZV in cell-based assays. Its primary intended use is prophylaxis in high-risk populations such as immunocompromised individuals, pregnant women without immunity evidence, neonates, and infants at risk after exposure to VZV. Early studies suggest it may also have therapeutic potential for herpes zoster caused by reactivation of latent VZV[1][2][3][4].
