Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TNX-1810 is a preclinical live attenuated vaccine candidate being developed by Tonix Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with the University of Alberta for the prevention of COVID-19. It utilizes Tonix's proprietary horsepox virus vector platform to express SARS-CoV-2 antigens other than the Spike protein. Unlike many first-generation COVID-19 vaccines that focus on neutralizing antibodies against the Spike protein, TNX-1810 is specifically designed to elicit a robust T-cell-mediated immune response. This approach aims to provide broader and potentially more durable protection against viral variants by targeting more conserved internal viral proteins.
