Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TNX-1820 is a preclinical live-attenuated vaccine candidate developed by Tonix Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with the University of Alberta for the prevention of COVID-19. It utilizes Tonix's proprietary horsepox virus vector platform to express SARS-CoV-2 antigens other than the Spike protein. Unlike many first-generation COVID-19 vaccines that focus on neutralizing antibodies against the Spike protein, TNX-1820 is designed to elicit a robust and durable T-cell-mediated immune response. This approach aims to provide broader protection against viral variants and enhance long-term cellular immunity by targeting diverse viral antigens.
