TNX-1830 is a live viral vector vaccine candidate based on a modified horsepox virus designed to express specific, non-Spike protein antigens from SARS-CoV-2 for the prevention of COVID-19. Unlike related candidates such as TNX-1800, which expresses the Spike protein, TNX-1830 is engineered to express different SARS-CoV-2 antigens to induce an immune response—primarily aiming for an almost pure T cell response—in an effort to provide protection against variants and to explore broader antigen targets. It is under development by Tonix Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with the University of Alberta[1][2][3][4][5].
