TNX-2300 is a preclinical live attenuated virus vaccine candidate being developed by Tonix Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with Kansas State University for the prevention of COVID-19. The vaccine utilizes a novel bovine parainfluenza (BPI) virus vector platform designed for mucosal (intranasal) administration. It is engineered to express the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein to elicit neutralizing antibodies and co-express CD40-ligand (CD40L) to enhance T cell-mediated immunity. The program aims to provide durable immunity and prevent forward transmission of the virus by stimulating local mucosal immune responses.
