Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TO-O-1004 is a small molecule therapeutic candidate developed by Theratocular Biotek for the treatment of Dry Eye Disease (DED) and Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). Administered as topical eye drops, TO-O-1004 acts as a Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) antagonist. TLR4 is a key mediator of the innate immune response, and its activation on the ocular surface leads to the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, contributing to the pathogenesis of dry eye. By blocking TLR4 signaling, TO-O-1004 aims to alleviate ocular surface inflammation and improve clinical signs and symptoms of dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction.
