Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tocopheryl phosphate mix (TPM) is a proprietary lipid-based drug delivery technology developed by Avecho Biotechnology (formerly Phosphagenics Limited). It is composed of two phosphorylated forms of Vitamin E: mono-alpha-tocopheryl phosphate (TP) and di-alpha-tocopheryl phosphate (T2P). TPM self-assembles into vesicular nanostructures that encapsulate and solubilize poorly soluble active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), thereby enhancing their absorption and bioavailability across biological membranes. In clinical development, TPM has been evaluated as an oral delivery enhancer for Vitamin D to improve systemic exposure in patients with vitamin D deficiency. The technology is also utilized in topical and injectable formulations for various other therapeutic applications, including pain management and dermatology.
