Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tocovid is a branded formulation of tocotrienol-rich vitamin E derived from palm oil. It contains a mixture of tocotrienols (d-alpha, d-gamma, d-delta) and alpha-tocopherol. Tocovid acts primarily as an antioxidant and has demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties. Clinical studies suggest it may ameliorate diabetic nephropathy by reducing serum creatinine and advanced glycation end products (AGEs), as well as improve nerve conduction in diabetic peripheral neuropathy by increasing nerve growth factor levels[1][4]. Additional indications include cardiovascular support through cholesterol management, neuroprotection for cognitive function maintenance, skin health benefits, and general wellness[5][6][9]. The product is available in softgel or tablet form and is classified as an over-the-counter dietary supplement or multivitamin/antioxidant in several markets[8][10].
