TOL2 is a recombinant fusion protein being developed by Toleranzia AB as a disease-modifying treatment for generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG). The therapy utilizes Toleranzia's proprietary technology platform to induce immunological tolerance. It consists of a modified cholera toxin B subunit (CTB) carrier protein fused to the alpha-subunit of the human acetylcholine receptor (AChR). TOL2 is designed to selectively reprogram the immune system to stop attacking the AChR at the neuromuscular junction, potentially offering a long-term cure or significant reduction in symptoms without the side effects associated with broad immunosuppressants.
