Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TolaSure Vehicle Gel is the inactive topical formulation developed by BioMendics, LLC, to serve as a placebo control in clinical trials for TolaSure (BM-3103). TolaSure is a 5% w/w topical gel containing a proprietary small molecule liquid crystal that acts as an mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin) inhibitor to promote accelerated wound healing and treat rare genetic keratin disorders. The vehicle gel is designed to be physically identical to the active TolaSure gel but does not contain the BM-3103 active ingredient. It has been utilized in Phase 2 clinical trials, such as the TAMES-02 study, to evaluate the healing of acute induced wounds (e.g., punch biopsies) in healthy volunteers and is also involved in studies for epidermolysis bullosa simplex (EBS), pachyonychia congenita, and epidermolytic ichthyosis.
