Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tolcylen is a physician-dispensed topical solution developed by Marlinz Pharma for the treatment of fungal nails (onychomycosis) and the improvement of non-fungal nail dystrophy. The formulation is a combination of the antifungal agent tolnaftate (1%) and undecylenic acid (25%), alongside urea, lactic acid, and propylene glycol which act as keratolytics and penetration enhancers. This multi-component approach aims to eradicate fungal infections by inhibiting squalene epoxidase while simultaneously debriding and hydrating the nail plate to restore its appearance. It is unique for its delivery system that allows the active ingredients to penetrate the nail bed without the need for systemic medication.
