tolecimab

Tolecimab is a monoclonal antibody targeting the interleukin-6 receptor (IL-6R). It is designed as an immunomodulatory agent, functioning by inhibiting the binding of interleukin-6 (IL-6) to its receptor, thereby blocking downstream inflammatory signaling. Tolecimab is being developed primarily for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. The drug acts similarly in mechanism to other IL-6R inhibitors like tocilizumab but is a distinct molecule. Tolecimab has been developed by Chinese pharmaceutical companies and has undergone clinical trials for conditions including rheumatoid arthritis.
