Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tolisign-D is an oral fixed-dose combination product containing tolperisone and diclofenac, developed and marketed by Primus Remedies. Tolperisone is a centrally acting muscle relaxant that functions by inhibiting voltage-gated sodium and calcium channels, thereby stabilizing nerve membranes and suppressing spinal reflexes without the sedative side effects typical of other muscle relaxants. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, which are responsible for the synthesis of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins. Tolisign-D is primarily indicated for the management of musculoskeletal pain associated with muscle spasms and inflammatory conditions.
