Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tom’s of Maine Rapid Relief Sensitive Toothpaste is a fluoride-free, over-the-counter oral care product developed by Tom's of Maine, a subsidiary of Procter & Gamble. Its primary active ingredients are arginine bicarbonate and calcium carbonate, both derived from natural sources. The toothpaste is specifically formulated to address dentin hypersensitivity by sealing the dentinal tubule pathways that lead to sensitive tooth nerves, thereby blocking pain signals. In addition to sensitivity relief, the product has been clinically evaluated for its ability to remineralize early enamel caries (white spot lesions) under sucrose challenge conditions. The formulation is mineral-based, topical, and contains no artificial preservatives, colors, or flavors.
