Overview

Tomaralimab is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that targets toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2). It acts as an antagonist, blocking TLR2-mediated signaling and thereby inhibiting inflammation. Tomaralimab is designed to prevent ischemia/reperfusion tissue injury and has been investigated for conditions such as delayed graft function after kidney transplantation, myelodysplastic syndromes, and Alzheimer's disease. The drug was initially developed by Opsona Therapeutics and is currently being developed by Neuramedy. Its mechanism involves binding to a specific epitope on the extracellular domain of TLR2, preventing its heterodimerization with TLR1 or TLR6 and silencing downstream inflammatory signaling[1][5][7].
