tomelukast

Tomelukast is a small molecule leukotriene receptor antagonist originally developed by Eli Lilly as an antiasthmatic agent. It is part of the "-lukast" class, indicating activity at leukotriene receptors. Tomelukast selectively inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor (specifically antagonizing leukotriene D4). Development as a drug was discontinued and it has not been marketed. Tomelukast is structurally distinct from montelukast and zafirlukast, other members of the same class. The molecule's IUPAC name is 1-(2-hydroxy-3-propyl-4-(4-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl)butoxy)phenyl)ethanone[22][19][13].
