Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tong Cheng capsule is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Third Affiliated Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of orthopedic conditions, including thoracolumbar compression fractures (particularly those associated with osteoporosis) and knee osteoarthritis. The formulation is designed to tonify the kidneys, strengthen bones, and promote blood circulation to resolve stasis. Clinical studies have suggested its efficacy in reducing pain, improving bone mineral density, and accelerating functional recovery in patients with vertebral fractures and degenerative joint diseases. As a hospital preparation, it is actively used within the clinical practice of its developing institution in China.
