Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tong Luo Hua Shi (TLHS) is a traditional Tibetan medicine formulation developed as a modern capsule version of the ancient Wu-wei-gan-lu decoction. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The formulation consists of a specific blend of herbs, including *Salvia miltiorrhiza*, *Ephedra intermedia*, *Sabina przewalskii*, *Myricaria paniculata*, *Artemisia sieversiana*, *Astragalus membranaceus*, and *Rhododendron anthopogonoides*. TLHS exerts anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory effects, significantly improving symptoms such as joint pain, swelling, and morning stiffness. Clinical studies, including a Phase II trial in China, have demonstrated its efficacy and safety profile, showing significant improvement in ACR20 and ACR50 scores compared to placebo.
